Our specifications
Within the bookshop, our bespoke framing workshop uses its expertise to showcase and preserve graphic and artistic works. Each frame is designed in consultation with the customer and according to the requirements of the work: drawings, engravings, posters, photographs, textiles and objects can be mounted under glass, on a frame, in a passe-partout or in a shadow box.
Whether it is an antique or contemporary piece, a work of art or a family document, we adapt formats, finishes and mounting systems for both aesthetic and conservation reasons.
With our extensive experience in restoration and conservation, we carefully select neutral and reversible materials that comply with our heritage specifications: acid-free cardboard, special adhesives, UV-resistant glass and stress-free fixings. All stages are carried out by hand in our workshop, with a constant focus on discretion, durability and elegance. The Quillet framing workshop caters to private individuals, artists and collectors, as well as museums, galleries and institutions concerned with preserving the quality and integrity of their works over time.

Framing
We offer a comprehensive custom framing service tailored to each piece of art and each requirement. With a wide selection of mouldings to choose from – classic, contemporary, understated or decorative – we design bespoke frames that complement the aesthetic of the artwork and its surroundings. With conservation in mind, we use UV-protective glass to limit the ageing of inks and pigments, as well as neutral, acid-free materials that comply with preventive conservation requirements. Each frame is handmade in our workshop with precision, artistic flair and respect for the object.
Mounting on stretcher bars
You can choose to have your works stretched without framing, particularly large-format canvases, fabrics or papers. Atelier Quillet provides custom mounting on wooden stretcher bars, with or without prior marouflage depending on the nature of the support. This mounting gives the work a taut, flat and stable presentation, while facilitating its handling, hanging or storage. Carried out in accordance with the original materials and conservation standards, mounting on a frame guarantees a neat and durable finish, while preserving the integrity of the artwork.
American frame
The American frame is an elegant and discreet framing solution, ideal for works on canvas, rigid panels or stretched supports. Without glass or mat, it creates a subtle floating effect between the work and the frame, leaving the edges visible and fully enhancing the material and relief. At Atelier Quillet, each box frame is made to measure, using materials chosen for their stability and neutrality. This type of mounting, popular in galleries and exhibitions, combines contemporary aesthetics with respect for conservation principles.
